Question: what is the rationale behind automounting swap/solaris, type 82 partition

Hello,
I'm still new to Porteus, could not think of a better place to ask.

QUESTION:
Why ANY existing partitions on ANY existing devices marked as ´type 82´
should be automagically considered for automounting (normal boot, graphical, possibly also other boots).

In graphical boot:
a) I fail to see a reason why would type 82 partitions showing up in default ´guest´ icons on desktop, its confusing
b) I fail to see a reason why would type 82 partitions showing up in ANY ´root´ environments... its very confusing [see a)]

When ANY partition is maked as Type 82
is to be considered as ´swap´ by default, not a filesystem therefore not useable as a filesystem
is to be considered as ´solaris´ as a possibility: IT IS A FILESYSTEM which solaris would use/understand)

In both cases I would avoid automounting a partition marked explicitly as being Type 82: ´swap´ or ´solaris´
I wouldnt mount a swap intentionally, there is no use unless special cases
I wouldnt mount a solaris from a linux automagically. I could cause troubles...

Any insight?

Question: what is the rationale behind automounting swap/solaris, type 82 partition

i guess this could be a bug(or limitation) with xfce4 or thunar or udisks or gvfs(or all) (and filemanagers in general? they are a bit stupid?)
it seem that whatever is listed in /etc/fstab gets listed... could be a fault in initrd>linuxrc resulting in /mnt/<folder for each fstab listing>
thunar's side panel does have an option to hide partition entries(rightclick on DEVICES>DEVICES> uncheck entry) manually but this doesn't appear to have any effect on the desktop icons(and there's no setting to disable individual icons, only "Removables Devices" category)
in any case trying to mount swap fails with an "unknown filesystem" message.. (i presume 'solaris' would be the same)
$free -h should show that swap is already mounted(in some different way?) as swap..

it seem that whatever is listed in /etc/fstab
problem seems related to having /etc/fstab being ´recreated on the fly´
one cannot edit /etc/fstab (according to /etc/fstab itself)
