A new version of flashplayer-plugin-28.0.0.137-x86_64-1.xzm has been release. I upgraded mind with brokenman script update-flash.

Do you have a link to the brokenman script? It's not in my Porteus system.

It is built in v3.2.2 and v4.0 Porteus.

Look here.

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:cd /opt/porteus-scripts$
guest@porteus:/opt/porteus-scripts$ ls update-flash
update-flash*
guest@porteus:/opt/porteus-scripts$
I started a run test.

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ su
Password:
root@porteus:/home/guest# update-flash
[OK] User is root
[OK] Distro is Porteus
[OK] Flash is installed

[OK] Internet connection exists
Downloading live script ...
Downloading: update-flash-live DONE
/usr/local/bin/update-flash-live: line 63: warning: command substitution: ignored null byte in input

I just check and you are right it is not in v3.2.2 but I thought it was. It must have been removed from v3.2.2.

Thanks Jack. :) That code is certainly different than the update-flash script used in Porteus 4.0. :o

I ended up booting the 4.0 system, creating the updated flash module there then copied the module to the 3.2.2 system so both systems are current now.

I'll save the script you linked to in the 3.2.2 system.

Yes we did ncmprhnsbl and I even have that module in my 3.2 Modules folder.

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ ls /mnt/sda6/porteus3.2/Modules/gtk*
/mnt/sda6/porteus3.2/Modules/gtk-browser-update-20171204.xzm*
guest@porteus:~$
But the standalone 4.0 command update-flash apparently isn't a part of it.

Actually this shouldn't require a fix. /opt/porteus-scripts should be a part of your $PATH variable.

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ echo $PATH
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/games:/opt/porteus-scripts
guest@porteus:~$ sudo update-flash
If you want all your variables maintained when you elevate to a root console then use: su -l
Then the scripts in /opt/porteus-scripts should be found.
