I have had no problem getting Porteus to work on a Fat 32 installing in windows. I have tried three different distros on three different machines trying to install to the USB in Linux. Using the installer inside Porteus I select the ext 4 formatted drive and create boot, it seems to run through the process of copying to the drive but when it comes to the last part where the box asks if you want to install (I assume it means grub) it just stays on that screen for a long time then it goes away. When I try to boot the USB all it does is go to a blinking cursor.
It seems as though the boot install is not happening.
Any ideas.
Thanks
