hello
i have - a bit strange - issue (i would say).
when i put .dat file to save changes on my fat32 usb stick, reboot and start porteus in normal mode (that is configured to use dat file in boot menu), graphic is not usable (xfce). no icons are present, and when i cross the screen with the mouse suddenly portions of icons / dialogs randomly appear..
i use lg tv in conjunction with hp probook, situation is relatively the same for both displays.
i have not made any changes to this porteus except from changing conf to use dat file.
when i reset the system in fresh mode - i have not this problem.
thanks for interest

Hello vlnikolic. How big is your save.dat file?
Sometimes a save.dat file can get corrupted and the only cure is to create a new one.

Please give more information.when i reset the system in fresh mode - i have not this problem.
What version of Porteus?
What desktop environment?
The problem is definitely the .dat file since it works without it. It sounds to me like a permissions problem on some files. Can you upload the .dat file somewhere for me to take a look at?
How do i become super user?

hello everybody and much thanks for the interest
i tried yet again - and the problem is solved. this time however i used the default name for .dat file.
i had problem with custom name of .dat file and 1024 size. now i set the default name and size of dat file and it seems that everything works fine.
i do presume however that better option is to split usb in two partitions, first one - fat32, and second one ex4 so that porteus can save changes naturally...
btw
version of porteus is 3.1 (downloaded 2 days ago)
desktop is xfce (i think 4.1)
thanks once again for your interest
