Printer.
What have you done yet? Have you installed the printing. xzm module? Have you used panel menu > system > print settings to setup your printer? Is it usb or network? Have you found your specific printer in the list?

It looks like you have not selected the right device.

Sound.
Please google sound porteus problem. The solution has been provided many times.

@dorf:
And how is the sound problem.

For the save.dat container which work on usb fat32 partition Ed_P or bogomips should provide an answer. Did you build a porteussave.dat container?

Personnally, I prefer to install porteus on a linux partition and simply use a linux folder.

1.0 Sound:

Code: Select all

cat >> /etc/asound.conf << EOF
defaults.pcm.card 1
defaults.ctl.card 1
EOF
2.0 To know how you have partitioned your computer and usb key:

Code: Select all

lsblk -f
And post the output results.

Thanks.

Did not understand what you intended to do here, so thought let Ed_P deal with it in the other tz. Did not spot any error in the porteus.cfg that was posted.

If still experiencing difficulty getting save.dat to work, please run these commands in a terminal and post the output here:

Code: Select all

cat /proc/cmdline
cat /var/log/porteus-livedbg
su
toor    # pw
usm -i

@bogomips:
I presumed that he meant that he might prefer linux filesystem, or spare himself from the use of save.dat container. :)

We will see what he answers.
