Upon compiling and installing the NVIDIA proprietary drivers and rebooting, XFCE freezes and the screen shows a bunch of white lines. Nothing works and I had to force shutdown, boot to another OS to get rid of porteussave.dat before I could once again use Porteus.
This has also happened with other Linux Distros I've tried(with other DEs, so XFCE is not the problem), but the Windows driver for my card works perfectly. Any idea what I can do to get accelerated video or is there no hope?
Driver version: 304.131
Card: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS
EDIT: The nvidia xzm module from dl.porteus.org doesn't work either, try to login to the DE just flashes some random garbage on the screen and takes me back to login screen.

Re: NVIDIA Proprietary drivers freeze XFCE
Welcome to Porteus. Upgrade the Kernel and discard the nvidia driver. Since 3.18 not needed nvidia driver. Now on 4.4.3 using XFCE with h/w accelerated video.
