Help with porteussave.dat

Hi,
New to Porteus.
Have installed Porteus iso on a USB drive and boot up the iso with Easy2Boot: http://www.easy2boot.com/
Have created container at /mnt/sda1/files/porteussave.dat
As root: vi /mnt/sda4/boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg
File opens as readonly. How do I modify the "changes" cheatcode parameter in porteus.cfg? And this would be the correct parameter - changes=/porteus/porteussave.dat - ?
