Porteus Kiosk 3.6 font customization within wizard
Porteus Kiosk 3.6 font customization within wizard
When Porteus Kiosk boots, I go through the configuration options in the wizard and I enable additional fonts. However, once it reboots into Kiosk mode, Firefox still uses the same font (whether it is enabled in the wizard or not). How do I specify what font to use? Firefox is having a problem displaying the webpage font that is set as the home page. I am burning the .iso to CD and booting to the CD. The pre-installed OS on the computer is Win7 x64. Do I have to rebuild the system as linux to be able to use the font modules?

Hello cms333,
Perhaps it would help if you could post a link to your homepage if its available publicly.
Additional fonts component available in the wizard contains following fonts:
You can test them on East Asia websites like these:
http://www.szlib.org.cn/
http://www.jpf.go.jp/
http://www.visitkorea.or.kr/intro.html
http://www.thai-language.com/
http://wjsn.home.xs4all.nl/hindi.htm
Misrosoft fonts are missing due to license restrictions (user must accept EULA for using MS fonts!). Perhaps you could remaster kiosk ISO and add your fonts to it then force new font with 'browser_preferences=' parameter:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/parameters.htm ... references
This link may help finding right preference (must post as code - seems that phpbb does not accept it as a valid link):
Good luck!

Re: Porteus Kiosk 3.6 font customization within wizard
Thank you for your help! After trying some of your suggestions, I was able to use the browser preferences parameter to set all firefox fonts to sans-serif (which I was hoping would resolve my issue). However, even with sans-serif font, my styling is off on the webpage. It isn't publicly accessible, but here is a terrible photo. As you can see my selection for the radio button 4 is misaligned under the 1 radio button. Any additional suggestions welcomed! I will probably have to build the font module and learn how to create the custom kiosk iso....

This is quite easy:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/kiosk-customization.html
If you find working fonts then please post their name along with browser parameters you have used so other users could benefit.
Thank you.
