Running Unetbootin
I'm trying to use Unetbootin to create a linux mint live usb. I've done this in the past successfully with porteus but now I'm running into issues. When I run unetbootin it copies the iso files over to the usb and finishes the start up file installation in under 1 second. This seemed odd to me it would be so fast. When I restart my computer and plug in the flash drive it brings up an empty boot menu. I'm not sure what is going on here any help would be appreciated.

Re: Running Unetbootin
^ It's possible the ISO got corrupted when it was downloaded, try redownloading it. It could also be that Unetbootin isn't compatible with the flash drive. Maybe the drive is too big for Unetbootin. Try the utility named Easy2Boot and see if that solves the porblem.
Are you running Porteus from a flash drive?

and don't forget that some USB devices have a lock switch that prevents writing to device.
Even worse, some have firmware that detect if fat32 has been changed and re-format. so to use Linux it is best to buy USB sticks that don't show on packaging they have
backup software etc
