1.0 KNOTES:

knotes could be built from source. However, the prerequisites, except zope are not under usm. Citation from the readme file of knotes source package:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/knotes/ ... p_redirect

Code: Select all

Prerequisites:
    Zope (goes without saying realy)
    CMF-1.4 (min)
    CMFPlone-2

In addition to the above, you will need access to a suitable database server and
a python adapter for connecting from within Zope. The system has been fully
tested with PostgreSQL (http://www.postgresql.org/) and psycopg
(http://initd.org/software/initd/psycopg)
CMF is available here:
http://old.zope.org/Products/CMF/CMF-2.1.1/

CMFPlone-2:
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/Products.CMFPlone/4.3.2

PostgreSQL is already all built for slackware:
http://pkgs.org/slackware-14.0/slacky-i ... l.txz.html

2.0 STICKY NOTES
Sticky notes seems to be simpler to be built. From the readme file:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/s-notes ... p_redirect

Code: Select all

3. How do I compile/install?
============================

Requirements:
-------------
 * QT development files
 * libc6 dev files

My mistake - I have a look at this now and kde for porteus v2.1 has "Leave a Note" widget only.

When you have set it remove once xfce4-notes icon from tray to be sure your settings are saved.

Another way is to install notes extension for firefox or chrome. For example to start quickfox notes I use this qfn.desktop launcher:

Code: Select all

[Desktop Entry]
Exec=firefox -p 'Default Profile' -qfn
# -chrome chrome://qfnotes/content/openEditor.xul
Icon=qfn
Type=Application
Categories=Utility;
Name=QuickFox Notes
I don't know why kde-i486 doesn't contain knotes, kde-x86_86 should have it (but it is hidden somewhere in settings).

EDIT:
xfce4-notes-plugin-1.7.7-i486-bundle-2tm.xzm ~ 0.6MB
After activation re-login or launch notes from Applications Menu.
kde i486 and x86_64 don't have knotes
Changing some xfce4-notes settings may not work.

Thanks a lot totally what i was looking for :Bravo:

hi francois for knotes you have only to adds the kde packages that are missing not build from source,fanthom's kde is the best in a portable system but 60 mb you can't put in, all that you need,but in ktown we have the same kde version for the 14.1 so if needed we can grab the missing packages and deps,

@beny:
I went this way because I couldn't find the downloads with a google search on the net for knotes. Next time I will have a look at alien bob ktown package list.
However, I did not find knotes in the ktown package or file list:
http://alien.slackbook.org/ktown/

Thanks.

hi francois knotes is part of kdepim&co ,the knotes of your link is tagged 2009 so i think is a bit old,well i use xfce4.12 because it is simple ,do what i have to do.and i love gtk instead qt,btw i have plasma 5 too, fanthom have to do a choice and pat make this choice very hard,no new slackware release yet.
