When I was running Porteus from a CD, the Wifi/networking icon was a nice looking greenish graph.
Now that I'm running from a USB, it seems the icon is highlighted (or surrounded by white). Here's a pic:
Anyone know why this might be?
(The wifi/networking is working fine)

Try to boot in always fresh mode. If everything is back too normal it's something you have done since the installation that was save to the save file.

I have the same problem, when using persistent mode XFCE, the volume button became highlighted, this is probably because i changed the size of the panel in pixels, it seems that the scaling of panel icons is not without flaws
