Greetings!
I've Porteus 3.0 running fine on a 2gig flash with lots of files, though my free space is 130megs. I created a non-root jimwg account next to guest so I won't have any root permission problems fetching files from XP or Mint. It occurs to me that maybe I didn't have to create a new account but just could've used guest to stow my files and small videos (doesn't creating a new account take some space/memory overhead too?). I want to move my Document and Picture folders from jimwg to guest via SpaceFM to avoid the tedium of moving files and folders over and deleting one by one but it looks like SpaceFM doesn't have a Move command like other Commanders do. I also don't know the correct procedure to delete the jimwg account once I'm done. I don't want to willy-nilly delete it if I shouldn't.
Any info would be welcome!

Do you already have Document and Picture folders in guest with stuff you wish to keep?

I would advise using the standard guest account. Some scripts have the users guest/root hard coded.

Thanks for swift reply. The guest folder is empty and unused. Just looking for a way to batch-Move the folders from jimwg into it.Bogomips wrote:Do you already have Document and Picture folders in guest with stuff you wish to keep?

Not an expert but would think these terminal commands would work for you.
cp -r -u -v jimwg/* /home/guest/
chown guest:guest -R /home/guest/
Obviously the key is being sure jimwg is pointing to the folder you want to copy the files from.
