No audio on Porteus installation

Post#1 by squarefractal » 02 Feb 2015, 13:28

Recently installed Porteus on a USB stick with Unetbootin, and got my favourite apps installed and porteus.cfg pointed to an ext3 partition. So far liking the distro quite well :)

However, audio does not seem to work.

Output of "speaker-test":

Code: Select all

speaker-test 1.0.28

Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 1 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1022:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Playback open error: -2,No such file or directory
and output of "lsmod | grep snd":

Code: Select all

snd_hda_codec_hdmi 26628 1
snd_hda_codec_realtek 42800 1
snd_hda_codec_generic 33008 1 snd_hda_codec_realtek
snd_hda_intel 15640 0
snd_hda_controller 12928 1 snd_hda_intel
snd_hda_codec 58816 5 snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_codec_generic,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_controller
snd_hwdep 3944 1 snd_hda_codec
snd_pcm 48304 4 snd_hda_codec_hdmi,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_controller
snd_timer 12780 1 snd_pcm
firmware_class 4664 6 iwlwifi,btusb,r8169,drm_kms_helper,snd_hda_intel,iwlmvm
What can I do to resolve the problem?

Thanks, tome -- I got the sound working with the suggested changes in /etc/asound.conf. :Yahoo!:
