[SOLVED]Porteus encryption type?

Post#1 by arcull » 02 Jan 2015, 08:21

Hi everyone.

Maybe someone knows what type of enryption (AES,Blowfist etc.) does current version of porteus use for container of changes? I mean the option you have in control center, when you define a custom data container. Thanks.

thanks fanthom, but I don't think this answers my question. I've seen this is a LUKS approach, but I would like to know which encryption algorithm is used there. Is it AES 256? It is not that I'm paranoid about encryption, but would just like to make sure it is a modern decent algo. I tried to run a crpyto scanner against the encrypted save.dat, but it discovered just CRC32 and Skipjack, now I really don't know what to think :unknown:

AES 256 is default for cryptsetup and we are using defaults
