MariaDB not starting

Post#1 by noobTeus » 12 Nov 2014, 02:29

Hi,

I need to configure Mariadb(5.5.37) in my Porteus 3.

As root,
Installed mariadb with "usm -g mariadb" command.

Copied the /usr/share/mysql/my-small.cnf to /etc/my.cnf . didn't make any change to my.cnf

Copied the mysql.server from /usr/share/mysql/ to /etc/init.d/mysql

/etc/init.d/mysql configtest shows

"Testing MySQL configuration syntax SUCCESS! Syntax OK"

It takes some time when I run the /etc/init.d/mysql start with lines of ".........................." then end as showing the ......ERROR! message.

How to solve this?

Thanks.
