how to make xset persistent [SOLVED]

Post#1 by zer0-G » 27 Sep 2014, 16:51

Hello,

Currently my system is Porteus-3.0.1 and using XFCE. I use magic folders set to "/home/guest" to keep persistence and all else are saved to modules. Every boot-up I have to run "xset s off" to turn off screen saver. Is there a way to save configuration as a module?

Regards

xset command is generally kept in one of the startup config files such as /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc or /etc/rc.d/rc.local. X needs to be up and running before running xset so I would probably use the desktops autostart folder, or look in the menu for something that allows you to start services and applications automatically at startup.

Thanks! That pointed me in the right direction...

I added the following to "Sessions and Startup" in the xfce settings:

Excellent. The next version of XFCE will have an option on the battery icon to enter "Presentation mode" which essentially does the same thing.
