no need to install porteus on hard disk, it can run from a usb stick or flash card

I was trying to download the Slackware 14.1 "no dependency" (w/out systemd)
version of cuda toolkit (nVidia) @ pkgs.org. That link is down too.

This a package maintained by freestyler. So pkgs.org points to his website. I would say this is logic that you cannot download the package.

Did you try to reach freestyler? Many members on the porteus forum would be happy to have news about the bad boy. :wink:

You know usm command line, you can build cuda toolkit from source with:
root@porteus:~# usm sbo -s cuda

revised information on the use of rsync to move a porteus install from a partition to another and to move a porteus vbox install to an hdd partition.
