Good for you. However, working with wine I cans say that some windows applications work but others not at all. What type of program do you need? Maybe some of your files could be read with linux applications.

USM doesn't fine anything when searching for compat-32 or multilib. Wouldn't a USM 64-bit module for wine include it's required support files/folders?

You should have firefox linux version with porteus. If you prefer there is google chrome. For documents you can use libreoffice, it handles msword files. Libreoffice is free as almost everything on linux-porteus.

oh i'm getting younger and my brain is getting foggy lol :%)
ok what i am really after is running firefox under wine with the unity player so i can play battlestar galactica online.
what can i say i'm commited heh heh

as per francois's suggestion i used the i486 vers 3 kde4 build
first the fonts are missing from alot of the dialoge boxes , it just shows a bunch of squares insted of characters . in ums completely
the activate dialoge box is the same . the porteus config/install window is the same ok .. whatever i got bigger fish to fry :good:
i got every wine related pkg i could get :good:
not pipeline though
installed
wine_gecko-1.9-x86-1alien.xzm
winetricks-20130919-i486-1sl.xzm
wine-1.7.9-x86_64-1alien.xzm
wine-1.7.17-x86_64-1sg.xzm
compat32-libraries-3.0-x86_64-1sl.xzm
cabextract-1.4-i486-1ponce.xzm
so wineconfig the wants mono so i am using th
e shell script from the winehq site "install-addons.sh"it going nuts downloading the msi stuff for gecko and mono
then puts mono and gecko intp /usr/share/wine
now i download firefox 24 with winetricks ... it installls fine unity installls fine as in no hangups or erros :Search:

firefox will not run it wants xpcom.dll
im hoping that the mono script will fix that as im about to find out ..

Doesn't your Porteus CD contain FireFox? If so doesn't it support playing Battlestar Galactica? (btw I use to watch that show.) Can you post the URL of the game you play? Is it this one? http://us.battlestar-galactica.bigpoint.com/

If you need Unity3D you need to follow the procedure below.
http://alien.slackbook.org/blog/pipelig ... -browsers/

but setting

Code: Select all

porteus root @ :/ home / guest # pipelight-plugin --enable unity3d
Ubuntu uses another process, most recommended for beginners, but this can not be done in porteus.

EDIT
After test unit3d here: http://www.lib.kmutt.ac.th/services/lea ... /test.html

well at this point its ierd The Slakmax method turns out to be quite straightforward d-load 4 files instal and go.
Yep unity does work ..... except for battlestar galactica the loading webpage doesnt like anyof the OS's I could pretend to be
I dont think it likes NT at all.
The other way using wine is a bit of tougher used about 6 pkgs to get it up and werking but it will not update
havent figurd that out yet.
whats with the ubuntu method that it cant be done on porteus ?? this getting interesting now heh heh
