Application Error [Solved]

Attempting to play a game with FireFox I get the following error:
Code: Select all
Application Blocked. Click for details
Your security settings have blocked an application from running
with an out-of-date or expired version of Java.
Details Ignore Reload
None of the button options help.
I've looked in FireFox, looked through the Porteus options and settings, I can't find a way to change Java's security settings, How do I change the security setting?
The URL at the heart of this is:
http://www.freearcade.com/Texttwist.jav/Texttwist.html

an out-of-date or expired version of Java
the best way is update your java, don't know how to do it with older version.

Thanks
tome but not sure how to do that. I looked at the Java site and didn't see a version for Slackware.
I did however find the Java ControlPanel, mnt/live/memory/images/jre-7u45-x86_64-1.xzm/usr/lib64/java/jre/bin, ran it and changed the security settings such that I got a prompt when accessing the URL asking me if it was ok.

Don't use 'mnt/live/memory/images/' for xzm modules, use this /usr/lib64/java/jre/bin

Even in Always Fresh Mode you will have it - too older java, wait for 3.0 final - should be in this week.

I didn't put it there, the cheatcode did. And the files are actually in both locations.

Actual finding Java RTE modules for Slackware is not that easy. Though I could be searching incorrectly.

Don't worry bro
Take this 2 packages TXZ and convert to XZM
download and make your module icedtea
http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slackbu ... 1alien.txz
download and make your module openjre
http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slackbu ... 1alien.txz
I tested works fine!
Enjoy

Thanks Slaxmax.

Convert?
This openjre 7u51 file is 25% bigger than the original jre 7u45 download you gave me. Any particular reason for the size increase?

This packages are slackware format TXZ, you need convert to xzm (txz2xzm) or right click convert tgz/txz to xzm (module).
I don know why is bigger, but this package is opensource version from java oracle.

Thanks Slaxmax. I didn't see Convert as an option or sub-option when I Right clicked on the file but the txz2xzm command worked. Will test it out later.

Porteus recognizes openjre as a valid module but FireFox doesn't.

Thanks
brokenman. After fiddling with openjre I had forgotten to download it.
However at this point going to Java sites now freezes FireFox.

The USM openjre-7u51_b41-x86_64-1sl.txz slacky version appears to work for most my java links but one errors out.

This one errors also for me (java oracle 8) and for Windows (old java version).
