If you are begining with linux, you will have to be patient. Especially that a lot of people here are presently working on new 3.0 version of porteus. Package building from source is not an easy matter unless there are few dependencies.
To my knowledge nobody ever mentioned litecoin on this forum.

From that thread it seems you would be more lucky with ubuntu. However, there is maybe within this community someone who uses your package. So have a look on the forum once and a while.
Read that thread (and others on the topic) and come back with more a more precise demand. For example, if you need a driver for your graphic card, the ATI FGLRX driver, it is not available presently on this distribution
