Which version of porteus are you using? Have you tried the three nvidia drivers available? For 64 bit porteus 2.1:
Or maybe more tightly fitted to your question here is an answer, though a little outdated it should still work, see thread nvidia graphic driver, summary of difficulties:

For the application I am running the 64 bit doesn't work, Like I said I am using Kernel version 3.10.17 and the modules have a different Kernel. I will try your other sugestion to see if I can get it to work. Thanks

Perhabs you didn't read my question, I know how to write a module, I am speaking about the Nvidia Kernel module, my Kernel and Porteus are not the same and I am not downgrading.

kernel version does not matter. procedure for creating nVidia module is exactly the same and is described in the link i provided.
to the problem:
my guess is that you never updated /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build and /lib/modules/`uname -r`/sources symlinks which should point to your custom kernel sources.
btw: your thread title is too generic, our forum rules says:

Describe your problem briefly in your subject, then you can describe your problem in greater detail in the body of your article. Repeat the subject in the body if it will make things clearer. Avoid "subject says all", etc. A better subject might have been "X Windows crashes whenever I run program foo."
