Can't login to the forum using Mozilla Firefox
Guys:
Recently installed (again) Firefox from the repos (version 15.0.1) and one of the problems I have is that when I try to login to this forum, the system says I successfully logged in, but it returns me to the login page again. Anybody knows why is this? Thanks.

I have experienced this problem a few times. Be patient, very often it will resolve by itself or with the help of god, or hamza.
Within five minutes or so, or more... ... who knows.

Hey guys,
That is certainly an upstream bug on Firefox. Can't do anything about this.
Cheers.

This is really akward, as it happened to me a few weeks ago while we were in rc mode before the advent of final 2.1. And it happened on and off a few times only.
Since then, and I have changed my installations. 8)

Porteus default Firefox is version 21.

Where do I find it? When I go to the package manager I could only find the one that is in the Slackware repo.donald wrote:Why are you using this Stoneage old version?williepabon wrote: Recently installed (again) Firefox from the repos (version 15.0.1)

Willie, I have looked in the repo and elsewhere, I do not find it now. However, there are always dirty tricks: you could get it from hamza's build porteus. You will have to build porteus with firefox and then to download porteus minimal install iso . You will have to mloop the iso. Firefox most recent version will be in be in the /porteus/base folder.
It would be nice for firefox most recent edition to be there, as chrome and opera have been added recently. I imagine that after the storm of the advent of 2.1 version, things will be progressively placed where they belong.
Maybe, if you are patient, someone with the basic edition will share its firefox with you thru mediafire or some other filesharing server.

Definitely, this version of Firefox is much better than the one I was using. It runs faster and has the Flash player plugin, but still I'm getting the login problem. Sorry.

Funny, I have the same version and I do not get that. Please have a try in always fresh mode.

.
In always fresh mode it works fine, but there's the inconvenience that I have to setup my wireless network every time that I log in. I guess, this still needs a solution. Thanks.

Try with another save folder, and lets see.

Re: Can't login to the forum using Mozilla Firefox
A little reading of the faq will help you:
1) change= folder-for-changes, is a cheatcode, use the find option to find change= keyword:
http://www.porteus.org/tutorials/26-gen ... -them.html
2) change folder for windows filesystem:
http://www.porteus.org/tutorials/57-gen ... d-one.html
On what medium (usb, cd, hdd) is your porteus installation? What filesystem did you finally choose? Do you have a save.dat folder? A save.dat or save folder will keep your changes from one session to the other.
