Hello, I am trying to personalize my computer a little and I found where Kside is located and changed it a little to make it match my desktop better but I cant figure out how to change the color, Its a 8bit black n grey image but when it loads it turns blue, how can I change the color. I am also using a live distro so I was wondering if there is a command I could use to change the picture at startup.

open the image in gimp or photoshop or any decent image editor and turn to greyscale. Then make sure under image settings that it is an 8bit file (most important) then save it. If you don't save as 8bit it will have too much information.

Which startup image are you referring to? Search /usr/ for the string splash.

Code: Select all

find /usr -name "splash*"

thanks so much for the help. I created a xzm with the file and it worked perfectly!
