[Solved] Porteus 1.1 Timezone Information...

Post#1 by pumbaa2 » 17 May 2012, 07:05

I know this may seem silly which is why I wrote it in the Newbie Forum instead of Development. Anyhow, I was wondering if there was an easy way to set the Timezone information. I normally wouldn't care but MythTV complains that the Timezones are different between my Slackware 13.1 Server running Mythbackend and my Porteus 1.1 running MythTV Frontend (which reports "UNDEF" as the timezone which I assume means undefined). To correct the issue I copied /etc/localtime from my Slackware distro into Porteus (which worked!) but wondered if there was a utility to configure this. I know Slackware asks during install and since I do it then I've never had to change it in Slackware either.

Posted after 2 minutes 58 seconds:
Nevermind, I found it... "timeconfig"

Pumbaa2,

Tried Proteus for the first time yesterday with the Xfce DE. Sweet!!

I've already installed it to a USB stick, and I love it.

Just, only, please, tell me how I can adjust the Time Zone.

I have searched here on the forum and it looks like this may be a bug that's never been addressed. However, you mention doing it with "timeconfig", is there such a setting in the Xfce edition, and if so could you please point me to it.
