Dat file does not save changes after expanding it [solved]

I ran out of space in the .dat file so I decided to expand it. I went to the mode where nothing is saved and expanded it from 512 to 1024...
But now the system tells me that "it might be read only". The file upon right click says it has permission for read and write though, if I understood correctly.

What can I do to be able to save changes again?

"The changes location is not writable. This may be because the changes path is located on a read-only filesystem."



Solved: when I expanded the file, the system saved it as .dat.dat, which ends up being a different name on the config file

I've had this problem also. I had to create a new "savefile" which was larger, then mount both DAT files and copy everything from the first "savefile" to the new one. It kept complaining about "permission denied" on a few files, WTH does it have to store stuff in someone's home folder that should be in "/etc" or other place?

This is only what I did but it's not recommended to beginners.
