Please Help me Setting up Nvidia Video card [solved]

Post#1 by mcabel » 03 Dec 2022, 01:09

I don't know where to start to get drivers for my nvidia card for linux. Please help with this.

I already installed firefox and set up the file for persistence. My video card is nvidia 3080 ti. Should I just go to the nvidia website and download or there is a specific drive I should use? Is there anything I have to put in modules after installing that for persistent install of video card?

If your card is a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU it should work with a 470.xx driver.
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverR ... 637/en-us/

Have you tried this one?
http://ftp.nluug.nl/os/Linux/distr/port ... x86_64.xzm

...put the module into the base folder, reboot.

Hi, thanks for your reply!

The computer is a Desktop, not a laptop. Does that change anything?
Would I have to use the first link or the second? Or both?

A quick way to find out is download the 2nd link's module, put it in your porteus/modules folder and reboot. :)
