@logick
i see some confusion here.
according to your log files i reckon that Asus notebook has "Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000" (supported by iwlagn driver) while Acer has "Broadcom Corporation BCM4313" (supported by brcm80211 driver).
question: why are you blacklisting iwlagn driver on Acer notebook?
please do it on Asus instead.

second thing:
as per http://pastebin.com/EdFnPyF1 i see that you were testing new kernel-firmware on Acer while broadcom-sta-xxx.xzm module was still activated during boot.
please remove that module, boot into always fresh with base module + kernel-firmware only.
please make sure you are doing this test on porteus-1.1 (with updated 3.2.4 kernel) and not porteus-1.0

good luck

Posted after 4 hours 26 minutes 13 seconds:
Porteus-1.2-rc1 is out and contains broadcom-sta included by default. Intel firmware is also updated to latest version so please try it on both notebooks and tell me that everything works out of the box :)

cheers

@fanthom

Thank you for Porteus-1.2-rc1!

On Acer wifi works out of the box indeed, exactly as you expected.
Wifi on Acers is more important for me because often I take it on
a journey - it is small.

On Asus, however, pns-tool ended with the same failure: http://pastebin.com/QLpzk47n
I enclose also output of dmesg etc.: http://pastebin.com/bmFx84yR
Asus is big and heavy and it can be kept on wire for some time.

Congratulations !

That's good news for broadcom users!! Glad you have it sorted, looks like i will have to add it back to 32bit for next release too.
How do i become super user?
