Porteus 5, running from a stick.
I downloaded the module: jdownloader-0.9.580-noarch-6_slack (the only one available in the Slakfinder.org repository), and activated. It shows the icon in the Menu>Internet, but pressing the icon does nothing. I downloaded also the docopt module, as I think Jdownloader requires Pyton, but it had no effect.
Typing jdownloader start gives this:

By the way, the same think (icon present but doing nothing) happend with Abiword,
