Porteus

Hello everyone, I am Dennis and interested in this Porteus for 32 bit. To be honest my 32 bit computer doesn't heat up fast and its a good office and internet browsing computer. My computer is running Zorin 15.3 and wanting to change because Zorin is ending its support of 32 bit next year in 2023. Am interested in being part of this community and a supporting member if Porteus is willing to keep on the support of 32 bit computers.

I am not familiar of what I need to download the OS for my system. Anybody have any tips to give

Hello Dennis. To download an ISO go to a Porteus mirror site: http://porteus.org/porteus-mirrors.html and choose an ISO to download. Install instructions are in the root of the ISO named USB_INSTALLATION.txt.

I check the mirror link but I don't know what to install? There is a bunch of stuff for i586... Its all greek to me. Zorin was very easy to install on a usb disk and format the image. What should I download???

Well, you just need to download an ISO file, and there are many to choose from. I would suggest a /586/Porteus-v5.0/ link and then choose a desktop that is similar to the one you use with Zorin. I've never used Zorin so I can't direct you to a particular ISO to match what you have. My desktop is the Cinnamon one which is similar to Windows.
