Warmux

This section is designed for your 'porteus build scripts' which create Porteus modules for your favorite applications. Scripts should work like the well-known 'SlackBuilds' with minimum user interaction.

Warmux

Warmux is a GNU/Linux clone of Worms.

Have the mascots of your favorite free softwares battle in the Warmux
arena. Using dynamite, grenades, baseball bat and others bazookas,...
exterminate your opponent in a 2D toon style scenery and a funny
environment.

In order to install Warmux in you Porteus system, you need to build and install the following sotware from SlackBuilds.org:
-- http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.37 ... es/glibmm/
-- http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.37 ... es/libsigc++/
-- http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.37 ... ies/libxml++/
-- http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.37 ... s/SDL_gfx/

For the 64 bit version, you need " ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/slackware/s ... 6_64-1.txz " too. I think this is not needed for x86.

I have packaged this PorteusBuild pack to emulate the packaging process
of SlackBuilds. To compile and create the package, just place the source
tarball in the same folder as the uncompressed script
(warmux.PorteusBuild). Then, execute the script with root privileges.

A package will be generated in /tmp

FAQ:

Why a PorteusBuild for Warmux, when there is already a SlackBuild for it?

My build has some size optimizations that save up to 20 Mb of room by compressing the sound. This is bad for the quality of the sound, but good for the size of the resulting package. If you want to have the original sound quality, just go and use the original SlackBuild script.

I have both good news and bad news.

Good news are that upstream has released a new version of Warmux.

Bad news are that Warmux seems to be getting ready to shutdown the development of the game. I must remark than the game would stay playable for a long time even without ongoing development, but even then It would be very sad to see this game staled.
