Make a pBuild

This section is designed for your 'porteus build scripts' which create Porteus modules for your favorite applications. Scripts should work like the well-known 'SlackBuilds' with minimum user interaction.

No, it downloads the slackware packages from Slackware Servers and it make one module of all them. Simply. :)

Hamza,
what is needed to change your x86 Firefox pBuild script to have a x86-64 Firefox pBuild script?

Aside from the different URL, that is?

And is there a way to also download and include the most recent x86-64 version of Flashplayer?

And probably, add some other extensions as well... :)
Cheers!

The firefox x86_64 is a bit different and will require some symlinks changes like /usr/lib/ which will changes to /usr/lib64/ and many little changes.

Okay, what the symlinks are I could look up in my current FFx module.

But what with current flashplayer, it is possible to download that via script?

And also: Who is the one who maintains the update for FFx again? The most recent version is 20-0, but the most recent on ponce.cc / via Porteus Update is 19.0.2 ...
I think a pBuild for FFx and Flashplayer, for both i86 and x86-64 would help us all, or most of us since some use Opera or Chromium...

Would you like something like this?

About Flash Player, you'll have to run its own pbuild script. I don't want to mix things. Here is the link for Flash pbuild.

Okaaayy... I get your idea of not wanting things to mix up. But isn't the original FFx module already and always a mix, as in:
Firefox and
Flashplayer

There should be some kind of technique that is able to create a up to date module with FFx, Flashplayer and probably the AddOns and dictionaries a user already has installed.

At least me thinks that I am not the only Porteus user who would like to have such a pBuild script... :D
But I might be wrong, too... :)

wread... I don't get that. Both pBuild scripts Hamza linked to use xzm as file extension.

And we still use Squashfs filesystems:

Code: Select all

# file .../boot/porteus/base/000-kernel.xzm
.../boot/porteus/base/000-kernel.xzm: Squashfs filesystem, little endian, version 4.0, 14081646 bytes, 2710 inodes, blocksize: 262144 bytes, created: Fri Feb 15 12:16:18 2013

@rava: I know we use xzm, hundreds of them, but lzm is now middle age history
