Cinnamon 4.2.3 for Porteus 5.0rc1

Here is a place for your projects which are not officially supported by the Porteus Team. For example: your own kernel patched with extra features; desktops not included in the standard ISO like Gnome; base modules that are different than the standard ISO, etc...

Could you elaborate please? So you had this problem already with the rc1?

I'm not sure I can. :( I don't use 5 all the time, I spend most of my time with 4. But I'm reasonably sure the right click problem has been there but have I mentioned the problem before, probably but not sure where. Apparently you don't have the problem. :o

Found the problem jssouza. 4.2.3 working much better now, no more right click problems.

Note: When overlaying 00 modules in ISO files with 00 modules in extramod= folders make sure the file names match. :bangin: I had named your file 003-cinnamon-20190810.xzm so rather than replacing 003-cinnamon.xzm it merged with it. :wall:

Good you found the problem :good:

I had suggested one method before here: Cinnamon 3.8.6 for Porteus 4 (x86_64) (Post by jssouza #65420)
Rename new cinnamon as 003-clove.xzm. Put this in your modules folder and use these cheatcodes while booting: noload=cinnamon load=clove.
Other spices beginning with 'c': cayenne, cardamom, cumin, coriander - for future cinnamon updates ;).

Yup, I remember that approach and use it with my 4.0 system.

Code: Select all

set boot_parms="volume=33 reboot=cold $extramods$linux_folder/Modules noload=cinnamon"

guest@porteus:/mnt/sda6/porteus4.0/Modules$ ls 003*
003-jssouza-180702.xzm*
guest@porteus:/mnt/sda6/porteus4.0/Modules$
But I forgot it with my 5.0 setup. :wheelchair:
