I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

I told you to use slim if you are trying in Terminal. I start mind by making a bootable USB and pick Graphics mode or AF mode. It boots into the one I pick.

I started LCDE 4.0rc4 and logged in as guest, executing "slim" … but nothing happens.
Or should I try startx again after I ran slim?

I just try slim and startx in guest and root with no luck. The only way it will start is Graphics mode or AF mode. Maybe someone else will help you.
