ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

Here is a place for your projects which are not officially supported by the Porteus Team. For example: your own kernel patched with extra features; desktops not included in the standard ISO like Gnome; base modules that are different than the standard ISO, etc...

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

Post#466 by neko » 06 May 2019, 14:21

@raja, @chromer
I apologize for the long interruption.

Currently, AUFS is provided only for kernel 5.0, and not provided or updated for other version series.
I am concerned that AUFS will continue to be provided.
I am investigating a change in which APorteus discontinues use of AUFS.
Because of this I had suspended updating APorteus and other APorteus related matters.

I will upload the latest version of APorteus.
Other requests have not been launched yet.

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

Hi @neko, so I can make my own ISO with this "APorteus ISO builder" right?
I'm reading first about this to be ensure, for now looks easy and nice, but I have some doubts.

For now I have just my pendrive with your APorteus-LXQt iso, ie I haven't hdd nor other pendrive :P that is not problem true?
I guess I will need make this:

Get the APorteus ISO builder, then build with the tool my own iso, I will get the ISO in the memory, right?
ie I will build the iso, then copy this in my pendrive (with APorteus ISO builder LXDE in that moment) and then I will can mount that new iso again with rufus or whatever (using a friend computer)

I'm in the correct?

I tried the ArchLinux packages manager (spm-19.05.06-noarch-1.xzm)
But the dependencies are not completely resolved.
first try: COMMAND: mkSmplayer

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ smplayer
smplayer: /lib64/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by /usr/lib/libQt5Widgets.so.5)
second try: COMMAND: mkapl application: midori

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ midori
midori: /lib64/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by /usr/lib/libwebkit2gtk-4.0.so.37)
It is always missing libm.so.6
Why?

I have now installed the missing library program via usm:

Code: Select all

 libm.so.6 was found in opengrads-2.0.1.oga.1-x86_64-1_slonly.txz
...
Creating /tmp/usm/opengrads-2.0.1.oga.1-x86_64-1_slonly.xzm
Quiet mode: off
Updating shared library links: /sbin/ldconfig
But if I run smplayer and midori now, the same error messages appear!
Conclusion: ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus is not usable for Porteus 4.0 Xfce
Does spm-19.05.06-noarch-1.xzm only work on APorteus?

third try: COMMAND: mkapl application: vlc
the same error:

Code: Select all

glibtop(c=1770): [DEBUG] open.c:53 glibtop_open_l(): SIZEOF: 40 - 65648 - 248 - 65624 - 224 - 65624

I've tried make my own iso with APorteus iso Builder, but I have some troubles :(
maybe by my -limited- ram? I have just 3gb (ddr2 btw)
I would like test the Lumina desktop enviroment, some module to make this quickly? :P
btw in the APorteus ISO Builder tool, I think can be nice if you add Audacity, Ocenaudio and HexChat.

From the dracolinux website:
Draco is developed for and on Slackware Linux.
Interesting.

Looks also to be qt5 based.

Thank you so very f*cking much, really many thanks @neko :D
I will play with the new APorteus ISO Builder :D
btw, I'd forgotten two other programs. :P
Telegram, I really use this program a lot and Gravit Designer, I'm not fan of apps made with web tecnology, but the interface in this is very comfortable and well I'm considerating try make some things with this.
ah and Lazpaint (I used a lot Lazpaint on Windows), this one is an smaller and nice alternative for gimp as is abiword for libreoffice
indeed I found more comfortable the Lazpaint interface.

Ok, 3 programs indeed :P

Many thanks one more time @neko.

Hi Rava,

I checked it, still looks very much at early stages, but looks quite promising. It is a fork of the Lumina desktop from Jan this year, but already looks like lxqt. I would wait till it matures a little more.

If you want, I will post a link in our development channel, and when porteus 5 releases (whenever that happens ) , I can move it to community effort.
