ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

Here is a place for your projects which are not officially supported by the Porteus Team. For example: your own kernel patched with extra features; desktops not included in the standard ISO like Gnome; base modules that are different than the standard ISO, etc...

Thanks beny. So would you say that it has better possibilities than nemesis?

Unfortunately I am not really that good when it comes to kernel compiling. The one time I tried neko's kernel builder it failed. Image

Rava, look at this post Porteus Kernel Builder (Пост Blaze #76769)
I do not recall having done this

Code: Select all

Exec=/opt/porteus-scripts/xorg/psu "/usr/local/sbin/guimkKernel"
but then again, it was many months ago.

My goal for now is using your most recent 5.4.* kernel - 5.4.30 - and see if I can compile NVidia drivers for it. At least the V340.108 should compile okay, Unfortunately we are out of luck when it comes to 5.4.* kernels and V304 Nvidia driver. :(
(I presume you read donald's post on that in the Nvidia driver thread)
Cheers!
Yours Rava

@neko
I have took a look on your APorteus development. This is the kind of unusual releases with Enlightenment that I liked. there is included nice stuff out of the box ready to use. This and the Porteus official releases are the best things

BTW. If you could add Thunar , you could use the same setup from Porteus XFCE and improve the File Manager to activate or disable Modules and many other handy stuff
Cheers !! :magic:

I have downloaded Thunar with archSPM, I am just wondering about an easy way to handle files, I felt Enlightenment file manager give me a nice design impression but Thunar is just higher level, maybe it is my reason to stay with GTK+ environments

BTW archSPM is quite good and fast

My best regards !!
Thank you

Neko, Booted your Enlightenment ISO. First impression is very impressive. I have no exposure to this WM. Fonts looked very tiny in Full HD screen. ( good for 20 years old)

Windows couldn't be pulled to desired size. May be they are fixed in some cfg file.

Great work neko. I shall try your 32 bit. Hope it works with VIA graphics card .( openchrome)

neko, vmlinuz in boot/syslinux in "APorteus-ENLIGHT-v20.11.02-i486.iso" is empty. Please upload the kernel alone around 4.4mb. Thanks.
