neko,

1)
It is the function "findDatabase()" in the shell file
But, systemd comes into picture quite late only in the boot process.

2)"fatal" error message is evoked, when set up in two different directories in the same partition. I even added a different directory reference in the 'init_conf' to look for the sgn file. Does not work. I strongly feel, there is reference to directory 'porteus" in the init script. Do you have source for the porteus "init" script in the /bin folder.?

Debian Puppy live boot uses "linuxrc" file to boot, instead of an "init" file. I modified the script to direct to different directories, looking for 'live' folder, in the same partition, and it works.

Please forgive me a late response.

1. "systemd comes into picture quite late only in the boot process."
I can not grasp your situation.
Can you upload the initrd.xz and GRUB configuration file you used?
Also please tell me the result of executing the "ls" command which shows setting status.

2. "Do you have source....."
I created all initrd for APorteus with shell script except for the 32bit binary that I diverted from ARCH.
There is no original source etc of the binary.

Kernel header (crippled_sources) for ISO installation into virtual environment is included in ISO.

Your new spm 18.02.18 module is not reflected in old Arch SPM commands, which came with Budgie desktop. I could see mkgoogle-earth, in /usr. Should I remove the old Arch SPM package?

@raja

"spm" is released in two ways.
For Porteus users:
Release in package "xzm".

For APorteus users:
Bundled inside "APorteus ISO" and released.

For this reason, a version number mismatch will occur.

If package "spm" is newer than bundled one and APorteus user needs updated content,
once you have the package and activate it with a top cover, it will be updated (overwritten with newer).
Or you can generate APorteus with "ISO Builder" which is newer than the package xzm release date and the latest spm will be bundled.

I still use August,2017 dated, Budgie. Perfect.

Gnome settings are not available in others.Also MPV shows Samba-4.7.2 missing errors. ISO updating always, miss some dependencies here and there.

Did you boot tested your current release? Gets stuck at lxdm on/off and fails to log in.

Neko, Why don't you try making a release based on "openrc"? Then, Aporteus and nemisis projects can be merged. Also, can module extension be made different from .xzm; may be .axz; This may avoid mix up and confusion, with mainstream Porteus..

Yes, I did.

2. Why don't you try making a release based on "openrc"?
Because for me ,"systemd" is easier to set the boot environments than "openrc".

3. compare with Nemisis
APorteus is differ from Nemesis.
mainly as follow.

(1) The intention of providing is different.
APorteus user is enjoy fiddles with ISO by himself.
Nemesis user is enjoy the function of providing ISO.
For this reason, Nemesis is higher in perfection degree, APorteus is prototype level.

(2) Nemesis package manager is "pacman" that is PM of ArchLinux.
APorteus PM is "ArchLinux Simple Package Manager" that is an original PM.

(3) The initrd is differ.

(4) Booting is differ; "systemd" and "openrc"

(5) The construction of basic modules (001,002,003) packages are differ.

(6) The locale data distribution method is differ.
(I don't know how to get a Japanese version Nemesis.)

-----> It is difficult to merged them.

4. Porteus module type XZM
First, the intention of "ArchLinux Simple Package Manager" is introducing ArchLinux packages into Porteus environment easily.

And then, APorteus was built as trial result of "ArchLinux Simple Package Manager".

Therefore, XZM module is kept basically.
