ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

Here is a place for your projects which are not officially supported by the Porteus Team. For example: your own kernel patched with extra features; desktops not included in the standard ISO like Gnome; base modules that are different than the standard ISO, etc...

[32bit input method module 005-fcitx-mozc.xzm problem]
bug:
"CTL+SPACE" typing doesn't have the effect for changing input mode.

cause:
package version up
fcitx-4.2.9.8-i686-1.2 --> fcitx-4.2.9.9-i686-1.0

fix:
replace these libraries by old ones.
/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/immodules/im-fcitx.so
/usr/lib/gtk-3.0/3.0.0/immodules/im-fcitx.so

005-z.fcitx-patch.xzm (20 K)

hello, Have downloaded APorteus-v22.08.12-x86_64.iso
copied the files on an USB vfat
when running installer for linux I got
Uncompressing installer 100% ... Extraction failed
Am running on Slackware15 5.18.16
[SOLVED] by using another way
but I can run the installer for Windows which is OK
and now I can boot APorteus on my Usb key.

Do you happen to have this module for the official Porteus 62-bit? I'd test

Double click, "installer for linux"... Do not use "right click-open"
Linux Kernel-4.4.272 -32 bit; Linux Kernel-5.4.185 - 64 bit

@neco

I use an frugal installation from this ISO: viewtopic.php?p=81371&sid=d8d14a6cba554 ... 289#p81371 on notebook and PC.
All things are fine but there is no printing module. Even if i use an module created
with ArchSPM and all depencies i get by activation the icon in 'System' and 'Einstellungen' but nothing
happens on clicking. CUPS-port in browser (localhost:631) is also not available.

Is there any 'ready-to-use' printing module for 32bit XFCE-APorteus out there?? :( :%)

Hope you can help me :worthy:

"ISO Builder" was updated to 22.09.11.
kernel 6.0-rc5 (with AUFS patch)
Note:
"ISO Builder" employs OverlayFS and disables "activate/deactivate".
Example ISO that were built "ISO Builder" employ AUFS and enable "activate/deactivate".

Please refer to the 3rd article of this thread.

Example ISOs created by "ISO Builder" are multi-desktop:
(XFCE, MATE, LXQT, LXDE, FVWM, E16, Enlightenment & OPENBOX desktops),
and multi language (Deutch & English) ISOs.

These include a printer utility.

---------------------------------
@Hippo
1.Printer utility for APorteus-MULT_de-v21.02.08-i486.iso can not be ready.
ArchLinux employs a rolling-release.
Therefore it is difficult to retrieve old version packages.

But printer utility (004-printing.xzm) for
APorteus-MULT_de-v22.09.11-x86_64.iso & APorteus-MULT_de-v22.09.11-i486.iso
is ready.

2.Printer utility (004-printing.xzm) is not tested.
I have no printer. Excuse me that I can't test it.
If you meet with a trouble, please report.

Thanks.

@neko

Thanks so much!! :worship: :worship:
I'm german and i had no newer xx_de-xx-ISO to check out all the DE, especially the translation in menus/submenus:
its for my father, who is older man, who don't want learn english on his last days!
I decided to use the XFCE, cause it is very near to Windows(tm).
I didn't know about 'rolling release' by ArchLinux - i came from Porteus.

Once again - 1000thanks!
