Hello there!
I was trying to take it from usm but no luck. then realized that it is only available on i386 systems on slackware repos. also requires compatlib, mutltilib, blah blah. I feel really confused and this is not that kind of package I can make from getting dependencies from pkgs aswell, please help.
P.s I have successfully installed nvidia driver thanks to RAVA post.

Hi
S4m4n.
12. If you compile the driver for the x86_64 architecture, then you will get the message:
Code: Select all
Install NVIDIA's 32-bit compatibility libraries?
- if you want to play Windows games via Wine or Steam, you will need to answer 'Yes'.
Note. If you answered '
Yes', then you need to install Wine and 0050-compat32-multilib-lite-x86_64 (if you have a 64-bit operating system)
link for x86 |
link for x86_64
- if you don't want to play Windows games via Wine or Steam, you will need to disagree and choose 'No'.

Dear Blaze,
Thanks for getting back to my request. I have already pointed out that I installed the NVIDIA driver using:
[HOWTO] make a xzm module driver for NVIDIA video card
Considering that I have Porteus 4.0 x86_64 KDE, I have browsed into given link to take wine and compat32-multilib during the installation. But there were several versions for each, so I chose the latest (although my Porteus is not the latest version) as a result compat32-multilib conflicted with on KDE and one of Dolphin deps gone missing ! so I took it away and tried your other compat32-multilib but the issue persisted. So I have to choose between file manager or steam client.
What is the step by step procedure to have steam client work on Porteus?
Thanks in advance!
