Simple Screen Recorder

Hi francois

Do you mean porteus 4 xfce?

Here you go:
[ssr-0.3.11-x86_64-XFCE]
https://filehorst.de/d/duBkaxlH

I left out mariadb, the module is already "fat" because of the QT stuff.

as usual:
The File is on a german hosting service so please do as follows to get it.
Wait 15 sec > click "Jetzt zur Download-Seite" (means go to download page) >
click "Klicke hier, um ihn zu starten" (means click to start the download).

Simple Screen Recorder

Ever heard of ScreenRec?

Just found this:
https://screenrec.com/screen-recorder/l ... avy-hitter
ScreenRec is a small but mighty screen recorder that makes Linux screen capturing incredibly easy. This little app comes with both snipping tools for linux and screen recorder tools. The interface is remarkably simplistic—you only have to press Alt – S to start recording.

But it is the instant link sharing and top-notch security features that make this both a great desktop recorder and laptop screen recorder for Linux users. Not to mention that you get 2Gbs of private cloud storage and it’s all free.

Image
Best Features

* Capture full screen or part of it
* Basic Ubuntu screen capture editing
* 2 GB free private cloud storage
* Private instant sharing via automatic link
* Top-notch security features including business-grade encryption
* Small file size due to MP4 compression
The page tells us this to get the code:

Code: Select all

sudo wget -qO - https://screenrec.com/download/pub.asc | sudo apt-key add -
sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://screenrec.com/download/ubuntu stable main'
sudo apt update
sudo apt install screenrec
I presume, since its seemingly idiot-proof ubuntu, that the apt is clever enough to get either i586 or x86_64 binaries.

http://slakfinder.org does find nil, nada, njet for "screenrec"

And the the "fun" begins.
https://pkgs.org - the Alien Bob versions are named after its date - simplescreenrecorder-20131227-x86_64-1alien.tgz - and several other Linux distros all use the more reasonable version number, e.g.

suse:
simplescreenrecorder-0.4.2-1.4.x86_64.rpm

centos:
simplescreenrecorder-0.4.2-3.el8.x86_64.rpm

For both . No "injection library" here.
I looked into https://screenrec.com/screen-recorder/r ... With_Audio and while it is a tutorial for Witless 7,8,10 they explain that recording sound is tricky, I presume (for now, since i have not read anything one way or the other) that the injection library is for us of recording sound.
That is the only thing I dislike about recordmydesktop
- (not simplescreenrecorder as I originally wrote). It uses not much system resources, once you learned how to set it up and run it its working fine, but I never managed to record sound, all it create was a screeching mess, and I mean, trainwreck screeching mess, not a songbird singing to early sound.

fedora

Code: Select all

simplescreenrecorder-0.4.2-8.gited69cf5.fc33.x86_64.rpm SimpleScreenRecorder is a screen recorder for Linux
simplescreenrecorder-libs-0.4.2-8.gited69cf5.fc33.x86_64.rpm SimpleScreenRecorder opengl injection library
debian

Code: Select all

simplescreenrecorder_0.4.2-2+b1_amd64.deb Feature-rich screen recorder for X11 and OpenGL
simplescreenrecorder-lib_0.4.2-2+b1_amd64.deb feature-rich screen recorder that supports X11 and OpenGL - GLInject library
And that are just a few of the options to choose from.

I haven't tested the module. But I was able to expand my reply window by putting the cursor on the bottom of the scroll bar, pressing the left keypad button and dragging it down.

^
Thanks for that, some of the dependencies sound familiar, I presume recordmydesktop uses some, which makes sense, both try doing the same thing.

But me thinks simplescreenrecorder =/= ScreenRec.

ScreenRec, the one in the article I quoted sound nice, it all works as advertised. =@
Cheers!

What please is SSR?

*JK*, the answer is to be found in the thread title.

SSR just sounds like "Southern Socialist Russia" or such gem.
