Dillo alternative?

Salutations... :good:

"Framebuffer" Netsurf is a (attractive?) ultra lightweight browser based on x11 ...
(it's basically... a Dillo alternative that uses XCB... SDL... VNC... while avoiding Gtk/Qt bloat)

IMHO... this could be a nice addition to the Porteus pantheon of modules...
(unfortunately it has not yet been posted to http://webwarper.net/ww/~av/slakfinder.org)

Disclaimer: This is a module request ... https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/request :unknown:
so... if any response to this thread is "do it yourself"... keep in mind this is NOT a request for a tutorial.
A formal message requesting something.

http://www.netsurf-browser.org/downloads/gtk/ says
Framebuffer NetSurf

There are actually two versions of NetSurf available for Unix-like systems. In addition to the GTK front end, which is for normal desktop usage, there is a framebuffer front end for NetSurf which requires no windowing environment or GUI toolkits. It currently supports the Linux framebuffer and ABLE's framebuffer.
I presume you not really want that very version, the framebuffer one without GUI?

Yep. Basically... it all comes down to Netsurf... PekWM... EDE... Xfe... Qingy... TkDvd... Djv (libav) @ the core of the derivative that I've been building for over 1 year. :wall:
Unfortunately... this level of compiling is above my level of the food chain. I have achieved a crude Slim/EDE (PekWM) desktop so far and Netsurf will only compile 90% without CPAN stuff.

The point of this tedious derivative is to deprecate (perhaps eliminate?) Gtk/Qt bloat. I have already reached out for and secured one pledge to get help so far.
However... that help will be with Qingy and EDE. It took me 2 weeks to get 90% of Netsurf "framebuffer" to compile. @ the current rate I fear it will take 2 years to get the other 10%.

When I finally acquire Netsurf.. I will ask for help with Qingy and EDE. When that is finished I will complete my 1u rack2tower 2 node beowulf cluster to run my Non-Sequencer (Ntk/Fltk) DAW.

Pehaps then... I can build low latency music production projects instead of distro derivatives. :unknown:
Who knows... I might even try to port it to run on the Parallella (18 core FPGA) and/or nVidia Jetson (256 "CUDA" core ARM).

Pls Note: I already have a highly unstable crude version of this derivative running inside of LxQt/Porteus (I'm using it to post this thread). So this is more than just "proof of concept".

Best Regards...
