002-xorg.xzm upgrade

Post#1 by kalo86 » 08 Dec 2015, 16:55

Hello people,

I upgraded my machine with a new HP Spectre x360 convertible.
Since the laptop brings a new hardware, I am having issue with Porteus v3.1.
Playing around with Porteus Nemesis modules, I managed to boot Porteus v3.1 in text mode using the new xorg module from Porteus Nemesis (I know it's not corrent to do this but I only made this for testing only).
Is there someone who can explain how to update the 002-xorg.xzm module?
Thank you in advance,

kalo86

Hallo Kalo86!

Try this one, this is what I use for my Porteus 3.1.5:http://www.mediafire.com/download/mxb6c ... 2-xorg.xzm
Porteus is proud of the FASTEST KDE ever made.....(take akonadi, nepomuk and soprano out and you will have a decent OS).

Hello wread,

Thank you for the module, I'm going to give a try on my machine.
I have a question: do you use this module on the latest official Porteus (v3.1)?
I read Porteus 3.1.5, where can I find this version?
Thanks!

Hallo kalo86!

Porteus 3.1.5 is Porteus 3.1 minus 003-kde plus 003-kde5 based on Slackware current.

How can I try your 003-kde5 based on Slackware current?
I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

Hello Jack!
Thanks for your interest! To get it working you must update Porteus to Slackware current and
003-kde5 is still in development so I am not yet sharing it...

Regards :D

Hello Jack!
The 002-xorg.xzm module I offered kalo86 to test is in fact the Slackware current version of Porteus. If that works ok for him then he could test my KDE5 version of Slackware Porteus. The current Porteus 3.1 002-xorg.xzm is not for Slackware current.

Cheers!

Hi kalo86
In my system libudev is in 001-core:

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/mnt/sdb2/porteus/base/001-core# find ./ -name libudev*
./lib64/libudev.so.0.13.1
./lib64/libudev.so.0
./lib64/libudev.so.1.6.3
./lib64/libudev.so.1
./usr/lib64/libudev.so
./usr/lib64/libudev.la
./usr/lib64/pkgconfig/libudev.pc
My 001-core is for Slacware current. It works for me! Here it is http://www.mediafire.com/download/hjq6x ... 1-core.xzm

Good luck!
