Maybe someone will, but I will not build it from source because it involves the qt sources.

Meanwhile, from what they write on the following link there is a 32bit application for linux:
http://www.qtweb.net/download.php
It worked well on my 64 bit installation. You have to run it using compat libraries module:
http://dl.porteus.org/x86_64/current/extras/

All you have to do is to unzip or unpack QtWeb.zip. Change the attributes to executable for example in /porteus/modules folder:
right click for contextual menu > properties > permissions > executable

To start it:

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/mnt/sda5/64bit_v31rc1/porteus/modules/scrot/QtWeb-b104# cd /mnt/sda5/64bit_v31rc1/porteus/modules/
root@porteus:/mnt/sda5/64bit_v31rc1/porteus/modules/scrot# ls
QtWeb*
root@porteus:/mnt/sda5/64bit_v31rc1/porteus/modules/# ./QtWeb

Good to know bluemeridian, I will try it. I find that chrome is rather cpu consuming on old linux boxes. This might be a contendant for my msi-340x laptop, which runs rather slow mainly because of chrome. The only problem is being able to transfer all of chrome's setting to qtweb. :(

Thanks for the package cctan. :)

QtWeb doesn't seem to be actively maintained.

In the short term won't there be security issues, if there is not already some. :(

I am unable to reach my gmail account. :(
