You can grab slackware spacefm:
http://mirrors.nix.org.ua/linux/slackwa ... efm/0.8.3/
Once downloaded, right click on it to get the contextual menu, choose open with, and then convert to xzm. Move the module in the /porteus/modules folder. Start the file manager with the spacefm command.

i think the reasoning is more like, pcmanfm has always been the default 'LX' file manager. (pcman is lead dev) (worth noting, spacefm was originally a fork: pcmanfm-mod)
the merge of the lxde and razor projects is mostly about porting lxde to qt. qt5 in particular.
porteus has offered a treat with a snapshot of the qt future(albeit in qt4+gtk2)and LX users (being conservative types) are WTF?
as for spacefm no longer developed, it is a mature project, with (so far) few maintainence issues.. i'll be using it until gtk2 shows more signs of being dead
