i got so close, ccsm loads up the settings window correctly
and i installed fusion-icon but when i run it from the terminal i get this:

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ fusion-icon
 * Detected Session: /usr/bin/startxfce4
 * Searching for installed applications...
 * NVIDIA on Xorg detected, exporting: __GL_YIELD=NOTHING
 * Using the GTK Interface
 * Starting Compiz
 ... executing: compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp
sh: lspci: command not found
sh: lspci: command not found
compiz (core) - Error: Couldn't load plugin 'ccp'
compiz (core) - Error: Couldn't load plugin 'ccp'
running it from root doesnt help either, not sure where to go from here

EDIT: compiz seems to be running though but without any window decorations and it doesnt acknowledge the ccsm settings, so not very usable

pciutils-3.1.9-x86_64-1 will sort out lspci.
libcompizconfig-0.8.8 should sort out cpp

there is bunch of compiz related slackbuilds on slackbuilds.org:
http://slackbuilds.org/result/?search=compiz&sv=14.0

please go through them and read descriptions as i'm fairly sure they work fine once you set the build order correctly.
