Pretty good, thanks.

It seems to be a script error as you have an EOF error in the error_log.

Hamza, I'm glad to see you!

I have done the module pstocanonbj_3.3.orig_x86_64.xzm from this source pstocanonbj_3.3.orig.tar.gz.

I tweak configure file of this source for x86_64 architecture

Find

Code: Select all

ac_default_prefix=/usr/local
Replace with

Code: Select all

ac_default_prefix=/usr
Find

Code: Select all

libdir='${exec_prefix}/lib'
Replace with

Code: Select all

libdir='${exec_prefix}/lib64'
run ./configure and compiled it with make & make install
but it does not help me :D :ROFL:

In http://localhost:631/admin/log/error_log i have this error_log

Code: Select all

Unable to set ACLs on root certificate "/var/run/cups/certs/0" - Operation not supported

Code: Select all

Do you have the latest CUPS available? Sometimes Slackware repositories don't provide latest version available.

It seems to be a problem from localization files present in CUPS. It has been reported that issue may causes the same type of issue.

Hello blaze. I don't know if this will be of any help as I do not have a canon printer myself. However, they are 32bit drivers. Could they provide a solution with compat-32 package as proposed by Bjornar with its brother printer?
http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... 3&start=15

I could not test the drivers. I have downloaded the package 22415.tgz:
http://software.canon-europe.com/softwa ... asp?model=

It contains amongst other files and instructions:
-bjfilter-common-2.50-2.i386.rpm
-bjfilter-common-2.50-2.src.rpm
-bjfilter-pixmaip1500-2.50-2.i386.rpm
-bjfilter-pixmaip1500-lprng-2.50-2.i386.rpm

compat-32 needed:

For x86-64, if you are using gutenscript-ghostscript method the error is due to the fact that you did not update to gutenprint and ghostscript slackware 14.0. This was the error that I made.

Open printing solutions:
http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Can ... XMA_iP5000

If not, you should use the gutenprint-ghostscript method. You can find the appropriate gutenprint and ghostscript packages in the following thread:
http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... 057#p14057

If you prefer you can install your printer thru system-printer-config, use PPM to download it with its dependencies:
http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=1994

I have looked thru CUPS and thru system-printer-config and I can see the Canon pixma ip5000 in the list.

Have fun. :Yahoo!:

@blaze:
Did you tried the ppd with system-config-printer? Here is the Canon-PIXMA-iP5000.ppd:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/g04jb ... iP5000.ppd

Put the ppd in etc/cups/ppd/

With printing module:
System > printing > + > provide ppd file (PostScript Printer Description (PPD) ...) > etc/cups/ppd/ > open > forward > apply
