Nice. Did not know this was created. In Porteus 5.0:

Code: Select all

root@rava:/# update-onlyoffice
-su: update-onlyoffice: command not found
Darn, now I have one argument less to procrastinate and not yet installing 5.0.1. Oh, and the vulnerability against CVE-2023-4863 being still my main reason for motivating me towards installing 5.0.1. (I already downloaded all needed modules. :) )

I think I go for it and work on installing it now. Since I have the free time - and when I do the install and a test run i can procrastinate against other to-does. :oops:

Yeah I saw that, but I was into OnlyOffice prior to the porteus update.

80+ modules available

Post#93 by Rava » 14 Oct 2023, 00:46

I moved some posts in here that are about mediafire and about one of gomway's module.
Ed_P wrote:

mediafire use to do that also except their file name ended with /file.
meaning "used to do that" as in: they no longer do it / it no longer works that way?

Or does it still work that way on mediafire?
Cheers!

Don't know. Haven't downloaded anything from there since 5.0 went live.

From the past:

Tried it for one of gomway's smaller modules. Seems no longer working when using the terminal and wget (it works fine in the browser):

Dunno if that is one exception (maybe gomway did not log into his mediafire.com account when uploading the uget-2.2.3.x86_64.xzm file?) But more likely mediafire changed that ability of itself.

Most likely because MF wants you to load its web pages for all and any of its hosted files because there are ads displayed on it (that I do not see because I use ublock origin)

Added in 6 minutes 41 seconds:
New Working Modules and Custom Porteus ISOs
And finally, this is the download URL after I loaded the above link in my browser:
https://download1589.mediafire.com/il5w ... x86_64.xzm
Quite the mouthful.
Could be that this kind of URL expires and you have to again load the above URL to get a new working download URL.

Seems I was unclear in my post. (I now edited my post to make it more clear what was meant)
The Link works for me in Palemoon also. It not works in the terminal with wget as you see by the [ code ] snippets.

I was referring to what Ed_P wrote that mediafire links did work in the terminal with wget in the past. At least that is how I read his post. But maybe Ed_P did also misunderstood what I meant?

Hmm....... Right, other thing is mediafire is not redirecting now. What I mean by this is that when I type mediafire.com in the address bar, it won't load (as earlier it used to):

However, typing www.mediafire.com is working.

New Working Modules and Custom Porteus ISOs

Post#101 by gomway » 14 Oct 2023, 18:22

Well here are some new updates:

Microsoft-edge-stable_117.0.2045.47: This latest optimized version contains ublock-origin (ad-blocker), mate-translate (web page translator), few custom default settings, ask to save downloads + language locales and marketing/pricing apps are removed to compress the size. microsoft-edge-stable_117.0.2045.47-1_amd64_gom.xzm
Size=166.52MB

Opera-stable_102.0.4880.78: This latest optimized version contains ublock-origin (ad-blocker), mate-translate (web page translator), few custom default settings, ask to save downloads + language locales and marketing/pricing apps are removed to compress the size.
opera-stable_102.0.4880.78_amd64_gom.xzm
Size=157.93MB

So, now these are lightning fast. :shock:

Master-pdf-editor-5.9.61-qt5.x86_64: This latest update contains PDF reader and editor (with pre-included sane libs and tess data (english) for OCR reading of scanned pages/images), so just download and activate, that's it.
master-pdf-editor-5.9.61-qt5.x86_64_gom.xzm
Size=27.78MB

Thanks! :crazy:

Well at my side its performing good, and you are still slow at 1200KB/s, because my speed goes somewhere near 2MB/s-3MB/s. Maybe when you load opera or msedge for the first time it takes that time for the configuration. Close the browser and then load it again, see the difference.

Additionally, these are ripped off modules both based over chromium.

I bet on that, this ripped off version opera-stable_102.0.4880.78_amd64_gom.xzm is running way too faster and loading web pages quickly.

Btw MS-edge is a bit slower.

At a point speed went beyond ~4MB/s before I could ksnip it. Sometime I'll share the update speed too.
