Answer: it's hidden in the menu.
Menu Edit / Scale (Shift+S)
You already found it :)

There's also option to hide/show the mouse cursor. Check it in the Options/Settings.

^ indeed it does.

But, sadly, it not really improves my workflow compared to the native XFCe screenshooter and using mtPaint - ksnip not recalls previously used target resize size e.g. 854x640 or 44% when resizing FullHD - just like mtPaint does not.
I was hoping for an option to simply apply the same previously used resize parameter, but alas! neither knip nor mtPaint have such ability.

Thanks anyway, I think many folks who do not want to activate GIMP to just slightly edit a screenshot (and who do not use or like mtPaint) still might find ksnap useful since it has much more options to manipulate the screenshot that the usual screenshooter. :)

Also, feel free to add my screenshot to your post where you put in the link to ksnip so that folks see some of its image manipulation option. :D
Cheers!

could you also maybe change the path inside pdfStudioViewer_2023x64? Currently it activates itself into /home/guest.
OK, pdfstudioviewr_2023x64_gom.xzm is now updated, path rerouted to /opt/pdfstudioviewer2023 kindly download it on the first page
Or

7. Microsoft-Edge-Browser(Update no.2): Minor customizations in toolbar + included extensions (uBlock and Mate-Translate).
Download link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/mkku604 ... 4.xzm/file
Note: Run it from terminal if you don't see applaunch icon. type: /opt/microsoft/msedge/msedge.
Is it possible to tweak SM-Edge so that it not spies on the user?
i presume a vanilla SM-Edge behaves the same way as a vanilla Google Chrome.

You can customize some of the preferences in settings, like privacy, accessibility, etc. However, its reputed for data collection.
You can use Brave_Browser instead.

yeah, but 139.5MB for a mere browser. :(
Compare that to my standard palemoon - 005-palemoon-32.3.1.linux-x86_64-gtk3.xzm - a mere 41250816 bytes (39.34 MB) :)
(Though it does not support video conferences, sadly.) Image

The smallest one I found is this one - 004-brave-browser-1.34.80-linux-amd64.xzm - 111.43 MB ; small as in relatively small (compared to other brave-browser modules that is, not compared to other browsers)

It's Jan 2022 release, it's upto you so no further comments. I agree that browsers are getting bulky these days. Still if you wish you can try Midori_77.78MB, Vivaldi, Dillo browsers, etc.

Well I have this same module with (gtk3), don't remember where I got it from, maybe 80+ modules page. However, I'll upload the original for you (without 005 prefix).
Either way, you can download the palemoon_32.3.1-1.gtk3_amd64.deb file from here and convert it to .xzm.

And, here's the original palemoon_32.3.1-1.gtk3_amd64.xzm 40.46MB (md5sum: 539aab17b46e0468992710188f3d2d39)

Hi Rava,
where can i download
005-palemoon-32.3.1.linux-x86_64-gtk3.xzm ?
I made them myself, but Cave! I remove the enUS dictionary since I use the enUK one. And most of my AddOns are not in the 005-palemoon-32.3.1.linux-x86_64-gtk3.xzm anyway but in my settings module for my browser, that is currently: 985-palemoon-settings--RECENT--2023-07-20-Addons-Updates-Deactivated.xzm but I cannot share that one since it also contains private data.

And I not plan in altering my own 005-palemoon-32.3.1.linux-x86_64-gtk3.xzm since there is a reason why I make it like so, since it works best for me.
I could upload it but I doubt it would be of much use for anyone but me.

For you the best approach would be to use update-browser :

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/# update-browser -p
 Starting checks ...
[OK] User is root.
[OK] Distro is Porteus
Downloading live script ...
Downloading: update-palemoon-live DONE
Work will be done in: /tmp
Checking if palemoon is installed ...
[OK] palemoon is installed
[OK] installed palemoon version: 32.3.1
 Checking for Porteus ...
[PASS] Distro is Porteus
Getting latest version ...
You already have the latest version 32.3.1. Do you still want to continue? [y/n]
As you can see, update-browser recognizes my PM version correctly and also would create the very same version since it is the most current (stable) one.

And if your free space on your Ramdisk is not large enough for you to create the module, you need a Linux partition on your system (e.g. ext[234] - that is: either ext2, ext3 or ext4) with enough free space and give update-browser the -d parameter

Code: Select all

-d : use current directory for build work.
like so:
root@porteus:/2/tmp/PM-TEST# update-browser -d -p
Starting checks ...
[OK] User is root.
[OK] Distro is Porteus
Downloading live script ...
Downloading: update-palemoon-live DONE
Work will be done in: /2/tmp/PM-TEST
Checking if palemoon is installed ...
[OK] palemoon is installed
[OK] installed palemoon version: 32.3.1
Checking for Porteus ...
[PASS] Distro is Porteus
Getting latest version ...
You already have the latest version 32.3.1. Do you still want to continue? [y/n]
Cave! It works only when you execute it as update-browser -d -p - when you call it as update-browser -p -d the -d parameter will be ignored, but that is how update-browser describes it when called without any parameter:
root@porteus:/# update-browser
Download live script from server to update a web browser.
usage: /usr/bin/update-browser <option=-d,-h> <browser option=-g,-c,-f,-o,-p,-b,-n,-y>
It is quite unusual for a script to be that picky when it comes to the order of given parameters, but some of my own scripts behave that way as well and it is what it is.
Everyone is free to create an own updated version of any porteus scripts (but be aware that when you add complexity you also increase the chance of adding unforeseen bugs) - for almost all porteus scripts I go with the original ones for that very reason.

Back for one more issue - GTK2 / GTK3:

I Indeed rename all my main modules to be in the nnn-name.xzm schema.

And it is the GTK3 variant, since PM comes in GTK2 and GTK3.
As far as I know, when creating PM via update-browser you cannot choose between GTK2 and GTK3 - but all the last times I compared my own version of PM with the one update-browser would create, it also created the GTK3 version. Since I not have used update-browser for PM in many many months that could have changed, but I very much doubt so since all DEs have switched to GTK3 for a while now. still, ncmprhnsbl would be the best to ask (best in the thread about update-browser )

I looked up the initial 10 pages of my "Your posts" (from a total listing of 998 threads I have posted in) but the update-browser thread was not among these.

I tried a search on https://forum.porteus.org that gave me an empty page only, and I tried it via DDG https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%22update-bro ... oon&ia=web that also not showed me the correct discussion on update-browser (I presume the thread title would contain "update-browser" since that is what the script is called)

Added in 22 minutes 56 seconds:
@ALL
Please refrain form testing the search on https://forum.porteus.org to just test the search on https://forum.porteus.org . That puts a lot strain on our forum.porteus.org server.

Added in 1 minute 30 seconds:
Best is to use the search trick that most search engines support - adding site:forum.porteus.org and use your favourite search engine instead.
Cheers!

You need some hosting service and its uploaded URL. But a normal file uploader would not work, it has to be a specific image hoster.
https://imgbb.com/ is an image hoster, though I do not know if they would restrict its old URLs when you have a free account or no account at all some time in the future.

When you have the image URL put it in your post:
http://a.deviantart.net/avatars/i/m/imsohappyplz.gif
then add the [ img ] around it (it is the icon above the editing area with the image in it) like so:
[ img ]http://a.deviantart.net/avatars/i/m/imsohappyplz.gif[ /img ]
Result:
Image

This is how my XFCE4 look these days...
Somehow I tried to replicate how Ubuntu works with 2 sidebars. The left one for the favorite launchers and the right one to include the time, calendar, weather, workspace manager and the view desktop button.

I find the work area selector particularly useful because with a width of 128px, I CAN move windows from one area to another (as opposed to the very small default size, which they all come with and which adds no functionality in my opinion). And it remains hidden unless you want to move windows around or know what time it is.

If I want to see disk/memory meters and processes in detail, F12 displays a window with btop...
