OK, sorry for the nuisance, we have had wonderful Qt5 modules, BUT I'm beginning to see new binaries built against the newer Qt6. Could an expert build us similar modules but for Qt6?

Not urgent, but eventually, please.

hi rich just for the record, the qt6 into the porteus based on slackware is not possible there are so many software to upgrade that is impossible to have a stable system,if you wont to try it you have the arch porteus that have qt6 python3.10 and glib-2.35 and other....is a rolling release the last version of all.

hi rich Aporteus have the arch environment running and a great tool archlinux package manager that allow you to pick software from arch repos and convert it in xzm if you choose the deps check you can have a package that run like a container,Aporteus have the systemd environment, the nemesis is like the arch but without systemd and Aporteus have also the kernel builder if you want to play with the last kernel and you can maybe upgrade your system via live-usb disk creation, rich if you use the last edition of a software Aporteus i think is the system for you, when you have know the environment i think that like you,if you have a usb or Sd that is better, start to play with it.thanks to neko for this system.

:)

hi Testuser the nemesis last edition download link is on tread nemesis arch porteus edited by raja and for Aporteus if neko do not upgrade packages to the last one the glibc and other new software version you can't load the qt6 on Aporteus i have done a try but with my arch system not Aporteus, you can try to build a personal version with the 004 module iso builder that allow you to remake the iso with the last software version, you have to load an old Aporteus iso without the windows manager like xfce4 or mate or lxde and start with the build, need a lot of space to build it.

Hi Beny,

Thanks for the updates.

One more query here.

Can we use the below variable for custom libraries for an application.

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/lib64:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export QT_QPA_PLATFORM_PLUGIN_PATH=/opt/lib64/plugins
app "$@"

Here app can be run with custom libs in /opt/lib64 folder, right?

hi Testuser if you play with the qt6 you can install it in the same directory of the qt5 if you have a change of the version number you know /usr/lib64 is the slackware lib core /opt is for the other software, in mine i have only tor virtualbox libreoffice and the brother print software no lib64, but you remember the pkgconfig of a package, you have to change it with the right path...

Hmm...In Germany they say Hitler lost the 2nd world war because they had too many different weapons....the russians had only 3 weapons: 1 revolver, 1 rifle and 1 cannon, enough to win the war..

wread is right.
Fighting on multiple fronts is not good,
forces are wasted.

Why APorteus, Nemesis ...??
Why Mate, Cinnamon, Xfce (Differences are only small)
If all developers pulled together,
there would already be Porteus 6.0 with all software up to date.
