In any case... the critical feature is
Coreboot .
Reasons for Chromebook...
I have seven x86 devices. Three were compromised by a nasty firmware bug. My burner and about a dozen writables are radioactive as well.
Also a wireless keyboard.
A used $75 (USD) eBay tv box cost me about $1000 (USD) in lost hardware. The quarantined gear is lost because if radioactive @ this level it might as well be bricked.

I followed the instructions in the last post to the letter...
SUCCESS!!!
I can now (finally) finish my PekWM derivative minus ANY firmware threats ($$$).
I just need to get the driver to the Chromebook 14 touchpad
until then I'll just use my trusty ol' school handheld trackball mouse.
