Kodak ESP 3250

Here you can post about your various experiences with PC hardware. You can also post about hardware that is not compatible with the linux kernel or not recommended for use with Porteus.

I know it is not the best printer

Hello jack. Good to know that you found a printer. :)

Please tell me are you on 32 or 64 bit architecture?

I had a look at it. For our cups version you are better with the 2.6 version, as 2.7 has no ppd:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cupsdri ... z/download

1.0 Download tmp folder
2.0 extract to tmp folder
3.0 the file will be /tmp/c2esp26/ppd/Kodak_ESP_32xx_Series.ppd

Install it as explained in our discussion in a previous post on printer.

Cheers.

What do you think, would any of these work when converted with deb2xzm if all lib dependencies are present in system?

I did not found any ppd in the package printer-driver-c2esp_24-2_amd64.deb. It would be worth deb2xzm them and then run it in parallel with printing.xzm to see if it could work. The 27 version, I would personally not try.

@jack:

And how is your printer doing?

My instructions are really easy to implement. Do you want the ppd? I can post it.

I don't remember for sure.

How can I use "c2esp26.tar.gz" not for sure? I can see the "Kodak_ESP_32xx_Series.ppd" I need when I expand it. Can you help me?

You just have to extract the tar.gz with the archive manager and then use the ppd. What desktop do you use?

Are you afraid to put it in the wrong place? Do folders of your Porteus work only for input?
If you don't afraid of experiments, then read every post of thread entitled Which location to put ppd files (printer driver) and see which post suits your needs
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions ... er-305764/
If none work, francois will come and tell you where.

Install the ppd in /etc/CUPS/model/Kodak.

Then porteus menu > system > printing
will lead you to the system-config-printer gui.
2) in the menu select server > new
3) your printer should appear if it is usb connected, select it and give it a name (no spaces).
Select ppd method to install printer and get into folder tree where you have installed the pod (/etc/CUPS/model/Kodak).

I did what you said to do. When I set it up it told me to put a check mark to Enable it so I did and a 15 sec later it uncheck it self. Do you know what might be wrong?

Update:

The check mark stays on now. It show I have ink but it don't print. When I get paid I will get some ink.

Do you mean that you tried the print test page and that it tried to print but that the ink was dry?
